Are you new to the hospitality/tourism industry looking for a new rewarding challenge? Do you have previous experience in the hospitality industry and would like to renew any certificates or learn additional life skills?
The HaiCo Skills Development Program is looking for eager participants to attend a hands-on occupational skills, life skills training and hospitality certification program.
The training will occur for 12-weeks (until September 30th, 2022).
We are looking for 8 participants for the upcoming training session, which will include nine weeks of training, a two-week job placement and one week of follow-up.
Eligibility:
Must be EI-Eligible or a BCEA PWD/Non-PWD Client. Living allowance/wage subsidy available. Clients will verify eligibility with Hecate Strait/WorkBC.
Training Program highlights include:
Goal Setting;
Time Management;
Assertiveness and Self Confidence;
Stress Management;
Attitude and Business Etiquette;
Teamwork/Team Building;
Change Management;
Resume Writing;
Interview Skills;
Sensitivity and Diversity Training;
Intro to computers; and
Intro to Microsoft Word and Excel.
Hospitality Industry Specific Training for any TWO of the following occupations:
Food and Beverage Server;
Front Desk Agent;
Housekeeping/Room Attendant;
Food Service Counter Attendant;
Line Cook;
Reservation Sales Agent; and
Kitchen Helper.
Industry Certificates Include:
Occupational First Aid Level 1;
WHMIS;
SuperHost: Foundations of Customer Service;
FoodSafe Level 1; and
Serving It Right.
