Energy PROJECT | SUMMER 2021 Update
The Council of the Haida Nation, Old Massett Village Council and Skidegate Band Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in February 2021 to build and operate renewable energy projects on Xaayda Gwaay.yaay Haida Gwaii. This partnership will be signing the new agreement under the Tll Yahda Energy Corporation soon.
In April, Nang Hl Kaayaas Sean Brennan was hired as the HaiCo Energy Coordinator to work collaboratively with each of the three entities represented in the partnership agreement. Nang Hl Kaayaas has a background in forestry and Haida governance for the Council of the Haida Nation at the Heritage and Natural Resource Department
